The Root River provides a diverse set of paddling conditions as it winds its way through Caledonia in Racine County. Depending upon water levels and sections paddled you can get everything from quiet lake paddling to fast rapids in an environment that ranges from scenic rural woodlands to parks and wetlands.
Starting at Linwood Park, 5 Mile Road – Franksville, Village of Caledonia and ending at the Horlick Dam. The course is approximately 7.5 miles and takes about 2-3 hours to complete |
On this Earth Day event we will pull and bag garlic mustard from the Colonial Park floodplain. Trained crew chief will lead volunteers across the bridge into Colonial Park, where we will pull and bag the garlic mustard. It's easy to identify and pull. It's a family event! kids can pull, too. The event ended with some fun Celtic music.
